A first door
opens for
photographers.

First Door Collective is a platform for emerging photographers and creative culture. Through curated exhibitions, social events, and community experiences, we create nights where people discover new artists, connect with others, and experience photography beyond a screen.

Why now

San Franciscans are losing third spaces.

The cafés thin out. The bookstores shutter. We're all a little burned out from looking at screens, craving rooms that hold us — and conversations that move at the speed of a real life.

First Door is a small, stubborn answer. A physical place to explore the cultural impact art has on the Bay, to see new photography, meet the person who made it, and walk back out with something to think about.

We hold the door open. The work walks through.

Open Call

We're reading submissions for the summer group show.

If you're an emerging photographer in the Bay Area and you've been waiting for a real wall to put your work on — this is it.
